Coach education for India (from Siva)
18 november 2019 - Gia Tân 2, Vietnam
First I have to thank Ron & Huynh for giving the opportunity to do coach education in Vietnam. My first impression about Vietnam is kind of mixed reaction is above the expectation, below the best regarding the country. The place where I did the training, stay & most especially the food I experience is one of the best. I enjoyed every moment by meeting new people & Junior players & coaches in Vietnam
Before Vietnam My view about the badminton is entirely different & I believe my way of analyzing & teaching badminton was correct. For the first few days of Vietnam in coach education with Ron It’s hard to accept my way of thinking & analyzing was almost wrong all the time. Everyday of my training is the learning of new information which I never heard before from any other coaches. One of the most important things was about the Recovery Step, I almost watch Lin Dan matches for 10 years, I still missed the details about recovery step, that is something I realized how I need to broaden my view about learning badminton in detail. We in India do recommend the weight training for players before that for fitness, after I experienced the Core Stability training in Vietnam, I realized the importance & necessity of core stability for the players. Foot work is another part I was entirely wrong all through the years, the explanation about footwork by Huynh is really good & I experienced the immediate results after the few changes in my foot work. I understand how important to analyze small details in every strokes & how it affects the performance.
Some important teaching I learned, which I remember in all my life of coaching career
Time & Space
Analyzing racquet to feet & correcting Feet to racquet
Spastic Left hand
Shuttle Feeding Skills
Split Step, Recovery Step, Correction Step, Alternate Footwork
Way of Analyzing matches
Anticipation Drills
Still I need to learn a lot about coaching badminton, I will come back next year for my second part of coach training. Once again thank you so much for beautiful memories & training in Vietnam
