Coronavirus not always negative

19 februari 2020 - Đắk Ya, Vietnam

The Coronavirus also brings very nice things, schools are closed in Vietnam and will maybe not open before April. We have many players who want to play and do training now in the daytime. Parents love to send the kids to our academy, there is no school and they don’t learn anything and with us they learn English, they learn how to think and they learn how to play good badminton. For Nick, Barm and Noah it is very nice to have many players to play games against and for Siva it is super has well because now he has young very talented kids to do coach education with. Not only in our home town people love the fact that we are doing badminton training in the day time but we also get asked to come to other towns, Friday we will go to Can Tho to play some games there. Today I was in a supermarket and 100% of all people there were having mouth caps on, I was the only one who did not have one and the security man stoped me to ask why I did not wear one. I told him that everyone else already had one on so nobody could infect me, he did not understand my point and it is also not important I don’t feel worried at all. I see many positive sides of the virus. Players get to do good training and a lot and we have to buy new tickets to go back to Europe in April and the tickets are very cheap. I don’t say that it is fun to have the virus but you can try to make the best of it.

Hi Ron, I see you've found the silver lining in the Corona virus. Well done! We have an Afrikaans (language here) saying: Die een se dood is die ander se brood. Which means it might be bad, but you can do good too.
I'm writing to you as I know Marcel will be spending time with you for his birthday and I'd like to arrange something with you. You now have my email address, if you could maybe mail me your mobile number, then I could communicate with you please? Thanks in the meantime and hopefully we'll meet soon. Ashia
