The 10 year dream

Ten year ago I had a dream that my filosophy about badminton would spread around the World and that young coaches would join me in this new way of thinking. Today I can say that most of my dreams have come true, the first one to adopt our concept was Roel van Heuckelom who started BadCoach camps with me in Belgium and with great success. After Roel it was Martin Eriksen and Andreas Johannsen who started the second camp in Denmark also with great success because also this camp is full long before it starts. Now it was time to set up a camp/Academy in Asia and Huynh did just that in Vietnam, we liked it so much that we stay here now most of the time. But it was not the end, Tom Scholz started his camps in Germany and is now moving his camp up to International level. And we can now say that Italy also joined the group with a super camp based on the Orø concept. The one thing that all this camp has in common is the fact that the leaders of these camps have been in the mother camp on Orø (now Skibby) they have seen and learn about the new way of thinking in badminton and copy the concept in their own countries. Ten years ago it started with an idea to change the way badminton training should be done and today I can look around and see that I’m not alone anymore all the good students are doing it and att things to the concept making it better all the time. Not only coaches join our group also badminton education organisations pick up on this concept and we now see that there is an education program based on the Orø concept. This summer Huynh and I will do the skibby camp from 18-07 until 01-08 then we drive to Tom in Germany and help him with his camp and we keep driving to Italy to join Henri to set up the first camp in Italy.
