What to expect from your federation in this virus time?

It is nice still to be able to do training everyday even if the corona virus is running around the World at lightning speed, also for us things have changed a little. When we come to the hall we wash our hands with special soap without the use of water, there are no more than 2 players on court and I keep my distance to the players, we never shake hands but make Hindu sign of respect to the other player or coach, something I think we should keep in even when the virus is over. We professional badminton coaches don’t have any income anymore and most of us are not ZZP’s and are without any back-up because it is not very easy to make a living from badminton training. Most of us are doing it because we love to do it, I have heard from a couple of coaches that they feel left alone and they don’t hear anything from the players or clubs they are working in. I would say play your coaches a little also in this time where they can not come to the training, let them do the homework they never have time for like making personal training programs or let them analyse games of the players and give feedback to the players. It would be nice with some sports responsibility, the National badminton federation has shown that they are not up for the responsibility. There is no nieuw to the clubs, members or advice to coaches and clubs, on the website they don’t come any further than to share a NOC*NSF site with “most asked questions” . We must have the worst sports federation in the country. What should you expect from a sport federation in times like this? Well you see massive badminton actions on the internet from players and coaches all over the World, I would expect a federation that would take a leading role on the internet, get specialists to talk about our sport and explain how and why this great sport can contribute to your life. Most of all the federation should work their ass off to get new members when the crisis is over and you don’t get that if you do nothing. I don’t expect that the federations have a plan for situations like this but I do expect that they have a plan to get more members and that the only reason that they have not executed this plan was the leak of time. Now they have lots of time so the plan should be put in action.
