VIRUS PROBLEMS ??

2 februari 2020 - Bien Hoa, Vietnam

When I’m in Asia I always follow the news in Europe and mostly by the Dutch NOS, and I’m shocked to see that Asian people are getting discriminated and bullied because of the virus problems in China. Asian people are hardworking, friendly and very open, it are people who I have a lot of respect for and the dummy’s in Europe can take an example to people like this.

I can only think of one reason why they call Asian’s names and that is the simple fact that they have never been in Asia, they are simple souls who have never been anywhere and due to their low education (IQ) have no understanding of other parts of the World.

I do understand people who don’t even want to go back to Europe when the government offer them to go back, when you live here you can see how much better life is in Asia. You can see what it would be like to be surrounded by friendly people all day long. Europe has a lot to learn from Asia and the Asian mentality, don’t get me wrong there are a lot of things wrong in Asia and pollution is one of them. But on the basis of openness and friendliness we are very uncivilized, unfriendly and cold in Europe, my brother and Kirsten have just left our little village and even when they did not speak any Vietnamese they were greeted by friendly people ALL THE TIME just because they smiled and where open to the culture here. The virus problem is a problem for worrying people in Europe, I have not met one single foreigner how was worried here in Asia. In the NOS news I read that Asians hear people say to them “That is what you get when you eat rat’s” Shit now I’m in real problems because that is one of my favorite foods, and when we have guests and we talk about it they always look sceptical but after they have tried it they always change their mind.

I would say to the people in Europe, take advantage of the virus problems, trips and holidays to Asia are cheap now and it is not so busy, out of all the countries in Asia there is only China where they say you should not travel to at this moment the rest is fine to visit. Come and feel the friendliness and great cuisine of all these countries, and for people who follow me on the Internet lets not forget Asia is also the best place to be for BADMINTON.

I leave the remarks about the low IQ for my brother, but i fully agree upon his remarks about the openness and friendliness of almost everyone we encountered the past 5 months travelling through Asia. We just ended 10 days of family visiting in the Mekong Delta, the area of the birthplace of Huynh, Ron’s wife, deep in the south of Vietnam. We where welcomed as deer family. Officially they are absolutely right, cos now Huynh and Ron are married, we áre family indeed, but nevertheless! And Ron is right about another aspect of our ‘meetings’ with all the Asian people we met and saw during our cycle trip through China, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, and thats all the friendliness and happy smiles we where allowed to receive. The spontaneous reactions from both adults and children when we passed them, the waving and the trying to get us to their table to eat or drink something or to just have a talk with us. Imagine we would do the same in Europe with every Asian man or woman passing by, sjoe! I don’t follow the news when I’m traveling, so I don’t hear a lot about the virus. What I dó hear (mostly from my son in NL), is that its all over the news. And from that I can’t help thinking that there’s a lot of exaggeration involved, always initiated by the media. We bought a mouthcap too now, for the first time, so we’re influenced also. But I’m only gonna wear it in places where a lot of people are together, f.e. at the airport. Except for China, I don’t believe this new virus is the big thing in Asia the media wants us to believe. Come to this part of the world yourself and u will see. I’m still a happy traveller 😀
